Art, Inside Out. is the result of a dialogue between Draga & Aurel and ASKO, where production logic and artistic experimentation converge into a unified system. Rather than defining a boundary, the surface becomes a space of interaction: a condition in which material, use, and perception unfold simultaneously. Alongside this exploration, ASKO presents a limited range of award-winning appliances, and together, these elements form a cohesive whole that constitutes Art, Inside Out. Rooted in the research behind the duo’s independent collections, such as Heritage and Rescue Me , the project brings resin into a new context. No longer confined to collectible pieces, it enters the industrial dimension, introducing variability and depth within a framework of precision. “Resin is the material we feel closest to – the one that allows us to experiment freely and work in a direct, physical way. We are interested in how it captures time, fixing marks, gestures, and transformations without smoothing them out. Our practice is grounded in continuous material research and in a sensitive use of colour, as something that evolves, reacts, and never remains static,” say Draga and Aurel. Conceived and produced entirely in the Como studio, Italy, Art, Inside Out. works by shifting attention rather than adding elements. It repositions ASKO’s defining qualities, allowing its exactitude to become perceptible, and turning functionality into a spatial and visual experience. Through this bold symbiosis of art and technology, the project redefines the essence of home. The collaboration reveals the soul within the machines, merging precision engineering with artistic expression to dissolve the line between what we use and what we feel. In Art, Inside Out. , the Draga & Aurel artwork becomes a tool for transformation, entering the language of ASKO home appliances as sculptural objects, without altering their identity.
