Digital technology has now transformed many of our habits and actions, from the unusual to the most quotidian. Abstraction and concreteness now seem to coexist more than ever within the same existential perimeter, coinciding like layers simultaneously present on the same perspective. Consequently, space, which until recently enveloped us only physically, now belongs to us in an intangible or even incorporeal way. Each of us can inhabit and move within a distinct vital sphere, acting online or offline according to our own map that marks our personal pilgrimage through the world. Clearly, all this has consequences for the size and shape of space, which can no longer be the same as before, at least in many aspects. This is a nonlinear and complex process that, without interruption, will increasingly involve every type of society and place, public and private spaces alike, including domestic environments, even the most intimate, which we may persist in protecting from this sort of epochal tsunami.
