Lounge.60 is a bar cabinet made of fine wood, designed by Alessandro Galbiati, making its debut at Milan Design Week 2026 as a full expression of Italian artisanal tradition and a timeless aesthetic. The project stems from a modern reinterpretation of 1960s and 1970s design—an era in which form, function, and beauty were inseparable, and every household object was created to last and tell a story. The project’s research focuses on wood as a living material, carefully selected, crafted, and hand-finished by Italian master artisans, transforming it into a unique piece. Lacquered surfaces, warm tones, and balanced proportions: every choice reflects an idea of elegance that emerges through the details. Lounge.60 is a bar cabinet designed to accompany moments of relaxation and conviviality, bringing a presence into the home that is both functional and distinctive. The rounded lines and continuous surfaces follow proportions inspired by the golden ratio, conveying a sense of order and naturalness. The iron legs and feet, hand-finished and oven-lacquered, ensure chromatic harmony and long-lasting durability. The finish is an integral part of the cabinet’s identity: Lounge.60 can be customized in color through an online configurator and a dedicated app, allowing the piece to be visualized in real time and a personalized shade to be selected. Every choice is translated into an artisanal lacquer finish designed to harmonize with the space hosting the cabinet. Each piece is numbered and can bear the owner’s name alongside its serial number not a mass-produced product, but an object made to endure and be recognized. The exhibition, set up in the atelier of artist Mario Arlati at Via Alberto Nota 46, invites visitors to discover Lounge.60 in an intimate space designed to give centrality to both the object and those who inhabit it. It is an opportunity to experience firsthand the quality of the materials and the care of the finishes, at the intersection of craftsmanship and contemporary design.
